Delshaune Flipp, a union clerk who works in the Rockland town accountant’s office, is suing the town after being denied a position last year as the administrative assistant in the assessor’s office.

Rogers Middle School will host its second annual Craft Fair on Saturday, Nov. 22, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., at Rockland High School.

It is my hope that periodic columns from me, in the Rockland Standard, will increase the communication between Rockland Public schools and the community.

Despite the current economic slowdown, as well as a number of vacant storefronts on Union Street in Rockland and in the south of Abington, a number of local business owners and managers say they’re optimistic about their prospects and their future.
